Art at Wilhelmshof

Ty Waltinger was famous for working with genuine and precious colour pigments. At times, he exposed his art objects to the rain or snow and thus allows nature to influence his work. His oevre comprises painted lamp shades, impressive pigment paintings (pieces that are subject to alternation by nature’s impact) e. g. in the gARTen and exclusive, large-size stereograms in the rooms.

Andreas Reimann further develops pop art in Andy Warhol’s tradition. While Warhol works are rather static, Reimann emphasizes dynamics and feels at home it the tradition of mannerism. Thus, his multi-layered silkscreen works are produced digitally – and reveal hidden details. He gained international recognition through his homages to celebrities such as Romy Schneider.

Constantin Luser is known for his drawings and wire sculptures that transfer lines into space. The wire sculptures in the Hotel Wilhelmshof are ceiling reliefs with recognisable or associative motifs. The mirror drawings also extend the pictorial element into the room and invite interaction. The complexity of the works invites the viewers to orientate themselves on different levels of perception. Interaction and perception are recurring themes in Luser’s art.

Daniel Ballweg creates archaic-looking structures from the basic material earth, which are formed into an abstract pictorial structure by innumerable superimpositions. The spatial presence of the individual layers reflects the tension between becoming and passing away.

Valentin Ruhry builds objects from fluorescent tubes and electrical material which have a sculptural effect.  Set under voltage, they change the rooms.
